Research Festival 2026 comes back with theme “RBL in Action Researchers Ready”

Research Festival (ResFes) is a platform that provides students with opportunities to pursue their academic research desires. “RBL in Action, Researchers Ready” is chosen to be the main theme of this year’s contest. The total prize money of ResFes 2026 grows up to 300 million dong.

Deadline for Registration and Proposal: 5.00 pm, April 16, 2026 (GMT+7, Indochina Time) 

 

Research teams who would like to join this contest must follow the Regulations of ResFes 2026 described as follows:

  • Students from all unit members of FPT Education (hereinafter referred as to FE) in Vietnam;
  • Students from other universities in Vietnam and international partner schools (via FE’s invitation letter).
  1. Format

2.2. Rules and regulations:  

  • Each team has no more than 03 members including team leader (individual performance is also accepted);
  • Team members might be from the same or different disciplines/departments;
  • Each member can only register for 01 research team only;
  • One research topic can be registered for 01 sub-committee only. The similarity and eligibility of each submission will be checked by the Board of Reviewers;
  • Language used: English (for both oral and written presentations);
  • Submitted papers must be presented in ResFes format. Teams that do not follow the requirements will be disqualified for participation;
  • Presentation slides: Free-style.

2.3. Procedures: 02 Rounds:

Round 1: Preliminary Round – organized in online mode. To participate in the Contest, please fill out this form and submit it via this link

At the Preliminary Round, each team must submit their Proposal. For Proposal Template, please access via Proposal template. 

Presentation time: 20 minutes/team (10-min presentation & 10-min Q&A)

Research teams with the highest scores of each sub-committee will be qualified to compete in the final round. Number of research teams chosen for The Finale:

Round 2: The Finale takes place at FPT University, Can Tho Campus, Can Tho, Vietnam. Teams going through to the Finale must prepare their full papers, presentation slides (mandatory) and other forms of visual aids (if any).

Presentation time: 30 minutes/team (10-min presentation & 20-min Q&A)

  1. Awards: Awards are allocated for each sub-committee as follows:
  • The Champion: 20 million VND/team
  • The First Runner up: 15 million VND/team
  • The Second Runner up: 10 million VND/team
  • The Consolation Prize: 3 million VND/team

  1. Guidelines on Turnitin check
  • Turnitin similarity must not exceed 25%
  • Research teams must check their plagiarism on Turnitin before submission (if possible)
  • Teams whose similarity index exceeds 25% will be disqualified for the Preliminary Round or The Finale.
  1. Financial support funded by The Organizing Committee:
  1. For FE research teams & mentors:
  • Financial support includes:
  • Traveling to Can Tho (flight or coach depends on carrier’s schedule)
  • Traveling from/to FPT University, Can Tho Campus
  • Lunch & Dinner on August 15 & Breakfast on August 16
  • Accommodation on August 14 & 15
  • Financial support is granted for 01 mentor only. A change of mentor must be sent to and confirmed by Organizing Committee before 5.00 pm, July 23, 2026 (GMT+7, Indochina Time) 
  • Financial support for mentor is only applied if mentor meets all following criteria:
  • 01 lead supervisor/mentor
  • Mentor is not working in Can Tho
  • Mentor must not be a member of the Technical Program Committee of ResFes 2026

  1. Responsibilities of research team members
  1. Adherence to ResFes regulations
  • Individuals or research teams must strictly adhere to the regulations of ResFes 2026.
  • All submissions must satisfy the Organizing Committee’s requirements, ensure the accuracy and transparency of the registered information, and must not cause any act of violation to Intellectual Property.
  • All submissions must not be in any sort of authorship conflict, must not be submitted to other journals during the contest, or commit any violation of the law.
  • Students whose names are mentioned in the official graduation document (issued by FPTU before April 16, 2026) are not able to register for participation.
  1. Change of members
  • Research teams can change members or their info once only
  • An addition of new member(s) after the registration deadline is not allowed.
  • Any change to team members must be confirmed to and approved by the Organizing Committee within 07 working days after the announcement of Preliminary Round candidates (April 23) or The Finale candidates (July 22) via [email protected]. After the deadlines, all request for member change will be declined.
  1. Submission requirements
  • Research papers must follow the template provided by the Organizing Committee. Failure to adopt ResFes 2026 template means disqualification from the contest. 
  • Research teams are required to commit their responsible usage of AI during their research conduct.
  1. Violation and dispute resolution
  • Copyright infringement or regulatory violation is not accepted and the research team will be eliminated from the contest if committing any sort of such illegal behaviors.
  • Research teams that violate the regulations must bear responsibility in accordance with the law.
  1. Certification

Research teams and mentors participating in both the Preliminary Round and The Finale will receive Certificate of participation in Research Festival 2026.

  1. Responsibilities on taxes

Research teams that earn the prizes of ResFes 2026 will be subject to a specific amount of tax that adheres to the Vietnam’s Law on Personal Income Tax.
